Designer and artist Scott Rothenberger is an internationally recognized and award-winning designer who specializes in interior and exterior architectural design for living. He has been in the design industry for 18 years and currently runs Scott Rothenberger’s PLACE (http://designbyplace.com). He lives in Barto with his Dalmatian companions, Godiva and SeeSee.

Scott’s passion for container gardens showcases his belief in the interconnectedness of architecture and the landscape. He says, “I believe that a large space of just plants can be a lovely collection of plants. But when you add the architecture to the space through paving, walls, structures, features and statues, you create the dynamic of an outdoor environment.

Scott’s love of gardening began as a child growing up in Boyertown gardening with his mother and grandmother. Scott is passing on his passion for plans and design to his nephew Seth who has been gardening with him since Seth was four years old.

Scott has appeared in the New York Times with an article on his garden in Barto, PA. Scott’s garden was featured in the summer of 2006 on the International Garden Writers Symposium tour, has won four design awards, and been featured in two national books, a national magazine, local newspapers, Lehigh Valley Style magazine, and HGTV’s Landscapers Challenge.
