Absolutely Abstract: Acrylic & Mixed Media
Instructor: Amy Schade
Use acrylics, paper, crayons, gesso, and markers -you name it- to create a finished piece of artwork in this one weekend workshop. Critique and a variety of demonstrations are included to develop your individual style.

Creating with Acrylic Mediums
Instructor: Rhonda Counts
Students will be introduced to various ways to use acrylic mediums and be
inspired to incorporate them in their own works. Students will create a journal cover,
choosing one of the techniques introduced. Journal provided.

Stained Glass
Instructor: Bill Scheck
Whether you work with your own design or a commercial design, experience the
excitement of crafting your stained glass idea into a beautiful window hanging. Sizes will be limited depending on your design.

Parent/Child Cooperative Art Workshop
Instructor: Angela Colasanti
Parent/caretaker and child come together for an afternoon workshop of art, cooperation, and discovery. Instructor will work with adults and children to cooperatively create artwork where both people contribute to the pieces. A variety of artistic materials will be used.

Self-Portrait Workshop
Instructor: Rhonda Counts & college interns
This collage workshop will introduce various acrylic media and paints to be used
in creating a piece of art. The students are requested to bring images that reflect their
personal views and thoughts. These images can be inkjet copies (mirror images) of photos, text or from magazines, cards – any printed piece. We will be doing collage work, painting and drawing in creating the artwork.
Ages 12+
Monday – Friday, July 30 – August 3, 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Recycled Robots
Instructor: Angela Colasanti
Join us as we construct tabletop mixed media robot sculptures. Bring along found objects,
nuts, bolts, cans, wire, mint tins and just about anything to build your own creation.
This will be lots of fun as we learn about form, construction, materials and design. Lots
of materials will be provided, but please bring your own along too! We will also write a very
short story about our new creations to share with the group!

Happy to Be Me: Summer Camp & Workshop
Instructor: Angela Colasanti
The Happy to Be Me Summer Camp/Workshop will utilize a multi-sensory
approach to develop self-awareness and self-esteem through visual art, writing, and
cooperative activities. This five-day camp will provide an opportunity for young
students to come to Studio B in the spirit of peace, inspiration, and creativity. A
cooperative non-judgmental environment will be the cornerstone of all of the
activities. Students will use a wide variety of artistic mediums and create projects
such as a Peace Flag, a Self-Portrait Power Plaque, and a Handmade Art Journal.
Ages 7-11
Monday – Friday, August 6-10, 12:30 – 3:00 pm

Open Studio
Bring your work in any medium and enjoy working and learning with fellow artists.
Thursdays, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, $5/hour donation for studio time
Open Art Workshops
Each week an artist member will present an art workshop
for teens & adults. Students will leave with a completed art
project. Come by & create!

SPARK IT for teens
Instructor: Rhonda Counts
First Session: 4 Saturdays, Feb. 11 – March 3, 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm
Second Session: 4 Saturdays, March 10-31, 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm
A series of creative workshops introducing innovative techniques in artistic methods, using various media. The focus is “to spark the creative fire within” the students and challenge them to expand their artistic talents. In each 4-week workshop the students will complete a work of art. Individual instructors will be sharing their knowledge and expertise in drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, and fine crafts. Each week thestudents will be required to do “creative homework” to prepare for the following week’s workshop. Ages 12-17.

Always Abstract

4 Saturdays, March 10-31, 9:30 am – 11:30 am
Explore the many forms of abstract art and learn about famous abstract artists. Students will explore 2-D and sculptural media and create various abstract projects using oil pastels, watercolors, acrylics, sculptural media and mixed media. This class will be lots of fun while challenging students to look at their world with a new perspective. Ages 7-11
