NEW!  Art Painting Socials:  On May 20, 2017, the Pottstown Area Artists Guild begins its season of Art Painting Socials at Studio B once a month on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon—1 p.m.-4 p.m. Any and all artists are welcome to bring paintings that they are working on for critique, to continue the work in the company of other artists, and to socialize. Save the dates: June 25, Sept 23, Oct 22, November 25

Spring/Summer 2017 Classes

Title: Drawing and Painting

Description: Ideal for developing artists and beginners. Discover how exciting and diverse drawing and painting can be. We explore our imaginations and learn how to translate ideas into successful drawings. Topics include creating your own characters, anatomy of a superhero, comic book illustration, and anime along with landscape and still life. Line, shape, texture, color, value, and so much more will be covered in this exciting, on-going class. Learn proper techniques for using a variety of drawing and painting media.

Day: Wednesdays

Date Range:  On-going/drop-in

Times and Ages:

6:00-7:30pm – Ages 7-18

Cost: $25 week/ $85 for 4 weeks

Title: Portrait Drawing

Description: This class teaches a solid foundation in drawing portraits. From the skull and muscle structure to facial features, we will understand the properties and proportions of the face. Instruction is individualized, tailored to each student’s abilities and goals.

Day: Thursdays

FUN!! Paint with Pints or Scapes with Grapes: You Choose!

Description: Choose a painting for your party to produce. We supply paint, easels, brushes, expert instruction; you bring the party! Each person will leave with a lovely painting to be proud of, one that their family can enjoy for years to come.

Title: Write NOW!

Description:  Sadly, I don’t make time for my personal writing until I “schedule it.” So, come write with me and prepare for Studio B’s 2017 book release and annual exhibit “Muse” combining visual and literary art. The theme: Words: Those That Made a Difference in My Life or Those I Wish I’d Written. We’ll start each week with a writing exercise or two, a creative challenge, and maybe a few examples—yours or mine—to get the juices flowing. Poetry, prose…up to you! Drop in when you have time and the words demand expression!  ~jane

Guitar Lessons

Description: Have fun making music while learning the basics. Corey Klaus’s classes consist of easy-to-follow jam sessions peppered in with music theory in an all-inclusive, relaxed, creative environment. Bring your own guitar if possible.

Days: Saturdays by appointment

Ages: 5-15. 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Cost: $25 per session. $85 for package of 4.

Title: Breakfast Yoga

Description: A gentle hatha yoga class with emphasis on healing and expansion of knowledge and energy work. Release stress, do breath work, have fun, and do a therapeutic class with Jill Prout,  yoga instructor with 500 hours of yoga and yoga therapy instruction.

Days: Thursdays, on-going Time:  9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

Title: Young Printmakers Workshop with Melissa Strawser

Description: Young Printmakers Workshop, a family workshop for Mommy and Me (or guardian), nurtures curious kids and creates strong family bonds. The Art of Printmaking provides a tactile, hands-on, easy, fun way to STEAM-based early learning bridging together Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math while strengthening problem solving. Our print workshop follows along with sing-a-long songs, wee little problem-solving projects, a craft and the Art of making a Print.

Ages: 1-5: Siblings under 1 are FREE

Day/Time: SATURDAYS, 10 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
